Charles Donnell Dillard

Charles Donnell Dillard of Norfolk, Va. entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at his residence. He was born on August 22, 1967, to the late Arleatha Joe Dillard and Joseph S. Dillard, Sr.

Charles was born and raised in Suffolk, Va. After several years in the Hollywood section of Suffolk. The family moved to the Saratoga section of Suffolk where he grew up and acquired many friends. He graduated from Forest Glen High School in 1986. As an adult he ventured out and gained skills in cooking and knowledge of Commercial Building Construction. He worked at several restaurants in Baltimore MD., Northern, VA., Augusta, GA., and Norfolk, VA. He was a diehard San Francisco 49er’s fan and loved to fish. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and on the fishing pier. You could find him anytime glued in front of his TV watching basketball, football, and baseball games.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Cynthia Barner, Joanne Gipson, Linda Dillard, and brother Joseph S. Dillard Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory one Loving son, Charles Donnell Wise (Mytia), three grandsons, Caiden, Caleel and Carhon of Suffolk, VA, three sibling’s, Minister Wilfred M. Dillard, Rodney N. Dillard and Vivian Joe Saunders, sisters-in-law; Susan Dillard and Alisa Dillard, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relative and friends.

 A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
