Catherine C. Jones

Catherine C. Jones (also known as “Cat” and “Mom to all”) 77, was born on December 18, 1943 in Southampton County, Virginia to the Late Samuel Hill Sr. and Queen Esther Hill. She “gained her wings” peacefully at her home in Chuckatuck Virginia on August 21, 2021. Besides her parents, preceding her in death was her son Michael Anthony Jones and brother William Scott. “Cat/Mom” was a Deaconess of Diamond Grove Baptist Church, a member of Electra Grand Chapter OES, founder and member of Aspara Chapter #43 Order of Eastern Star, caregiver of many and mother to all. Her special talents were cooking, catering, bowling, community service, community advocate, advisor and much more. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 60 years, Roosevelt Jones; three daughters, Verita Jones, Bennetta Brinkley (Calvin) and Tonia Willis; four grandchildren Amber Robinson, Calvin Brinkley III, Javonn Robinson, and Anthone Brinkley; six great grandchildren Veronica, Evelyn, Ayvah, Jasiel, Kelly and Bella; brother Samuel Hill Jr. (Connie); sister Mae Queen Harper, a special nephew, Ryan Jones; and a host of other special nieces, nephews, family and friends (too many to name - but just know that she loved you all). A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Oakland Christian United Church of Christ (5641 Godwin Blvd; Suffolk, VA 23432). Viewing will take place on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 1-5pm at Crocker Funeral Home (900 E Washington St.; Suffolk, VA 23434). Please keep the Jones family in your thoughts and prayers.
