Catherine Demiel

On the night of January 25, 2025 God called home one of his angels; Mrs. Catherine Kindred Demiel.

She was born on August 18, 1934 to the late Willie Kindred Sr. and Clarine Pugh Kindred in Isle of Wight County.

She was married for 31 years to the late Isaac Demiel Jr. and their union was blessed with 7 children.

She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church from an early age until her death. She was a Missionary member for over 40 years.

She was a cook at Woolworth for a number of years and was famous for her fluffy cheesecake & corn muffins which always sold out. Later she was employed as a Personal Care Aide until her retirement.

Catherine was preceded in death by One son-Timothy Demiel; Four brothers-Alpheus Kindred, Charles L. Kindred, Willie Kindred Jr. and Claudie Kindred; Two sisters-Lillian Reid and Lizzie Beamon.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memory: One Son- Jonathan Demiel; Five Daughters-Rev. Elaine Beamon (George), Sylvia Whitfield (Curtis Sr. ), Clarice White (Andrew), Effrie Peterson and Faye Demiel; One Daughter-in-law, Cheryl Demiel; Two Sisters-Mae Bullock and Ethel Copeland; Two Sisters-in-law, Louise Kindred and Helen Williams. Fifteen grandchildren, Thirty-one great grandchildren and Sixteen great great grandchildren.

 A celebration of life will be held noon, Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Gethsemane Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
