Catherine E. Butler

Mrs. Catherine E. Butler of 37063 General Mahone Blvd, Ivor, Virginia 23866, entered into eternal rest and peace on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Virginia, a native of Isle  of Wight.

She was employed by B.D. Ladenberg and Sons for many years and then worked for Southampton County transportation and Healthcare. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and served in various roles; deaconess, choir member, Pastor's Aide and Kitchen Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Butler, Sr., son, Robert Butler. She leaves to cherish her memory; two daughters, Kathleen Butler of Portsmouth, VA and Janice B. Harris (Louis) of Chesapeake, VA; one loving son, Samuel Butler, Jr. of Ivor, VA; two loving brothers, Frank Elam, Sr. and Matthew Elam, Sr. (Brenda); brother-in-law, Willie Paul Butler; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Saunders and Juanita Butler; six loving grandchildren; Willie (Erica), Kara, Kirsten, Jared, Jasmine and Robbie; two loving great grandchildren; Jaylyn and Jayme; a host of nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Ebenezer Baptist Church and she will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
