Cassandra Lorraine Denson

July 5, 1963 — December 12, 2019

Cassadra Lorraine Denson 56, departed the earthly world for her eternal home on Thursday December 12th 2019 surrounded by loved ones. True story: It rained all day Friday. Also true: The laughter was so loud coming from the heavens Saturday there was no doubt that ‘Sam’ had made it home.  The daughter of Raymond and Laura Goodman along with her biological father Clifton Edwards, Cassandra was a native of Suffolk Virginia. After living many years in Charlottesville, Virginia to be close to her children she returned to Suffolk to be close to family. Family was everything to Cassandra.  She was a graduate of Forest Glen High School and continued her education at Paul Dean Community College (TCC) where she got an associates to become a Nurse's Assistant. After a lifetime of telling everyone what to do and trying to help everyone she could finally say it was her job to do so. A former member of New Mt. Joy Food for Living, she enjoyed shopping, reading and community. Singing was a passion of hers. She loved her time as a member of The Choir of Joy. Cassandra retired from Origio Humagen Pipets.  Cassandra is survived by her devoted children Charita Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA and Nicholas Johnson (DeAnna) of Jackson, MI; her grandchildren whom she loved dearly Christian, Ryan, and Quinn Johnson; her parents Laura and Raymond Goodman along with Clifton Edwards; her brothers and sisters  Lona Carter ( Derrick) Travis Goodman (Sherrell), Raymond Goodman Jr. (Virginia), Steven Goodman, Towania Whitfield, Tavia Edwards and Angie Gilchrist (Minister Al); her aunts Lillian Maddery, Lottie Smallwood, Paige Pringle, Linda Wright, Patricia Brown along her uncle Bobby (Kasandra) Goodman along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.   A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries. Elder J. Michael Copeland will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in the C.W.Ash Garden of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
