Carolyn B. Knight

Carolyn Bernice Knight, age 73, of Suffolk, Virginia, peacefully transitioned on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was born on January 21, 1952, in Suffolk to the late Eddie and Mary Savage.

Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. A hardworking and devoted woman, she dedicated her life to supporting her family and those around her. Throughout the years, she was employed at several local businesses, including Planters Peanuts, Professional Pharmacy, Duke’s Sandwich Shop, and The Horseshoe Cafe.

She will be fondly remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and exceptional cooking, especially her famous Yock, a beloved dish that brought comfort and joy to many.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Daryl E. Knight, and her sister, Mary Tillman.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter, Teresa Arrington (Lester); three beloved grandchildren, Chawquise Jones, Jaliscia Givens, and Demetrius Smith; and three treasured great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Eddie Savage of Portsmouth, VA; six sisters: Odessa Savage of Hampton, VA; Diane Mann of Houston, TX; Barbara Williams of Suffolk, VA; Angela Savage of Dallas, TX; Wanda Savage of Chesapeake, VA; and Latoya Savage of Suffolk, VA. Carolyn also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who were deeply touched by her kindness and love.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Carve Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
