CAROLYN ELIZABETH JACKSON

Carolyn E. Jackson, 67, of Proctor Bridge Road, Ivor transitioned Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Virginia E. Jackson and Willie H. Jackson, Sr. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Willie Jackson, Jr. and Anthony Jackson. Carolyn was a graduate of Southampton Public School. She retired as a Cashier from Exxon Service Station, and was a member of New Branch Baptist Church where she was a former Usher and former Secretary of Sunday School. Carolyn was also a former teacher's aide at Ivor Primary School. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Gwendolyn Artis (Henry) of Wakefield; two brothers, Leon Jackson (Margaret) and Darrell Jackson (Catrina); devoted friend, Donald Baines; devoted uncle, Junius Carroll (Leathia); several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A celebration of life will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at New Branch Baptist Church, 8140 Proctor Bridge Road, Ivor, VA. She will be laid to rest in Gilfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Ivor.
