Blanche Collette Rose

October 5, 1937 — August 2, 2020

On Sunday August 2, 2020 Blanche Collette Rose was relieved of her earthly trials and tribulations and surrendered her soul into the comforting arms of Jesus. Blanche was born in Gatesville, NC to the late Lucy Riddick and Luther Evins on October 5, 1937. As a young child her parents moved to Suffolk, VA where she grew up and was educated. As a young lady in Suffolk, VA she met and married Vernon Rose. In this unio they had several children. Blanche and her family migrated to Brooklyn, NY where she found a career in banking and retired. She attended New Hope Baptist Church where she became a member of the Usher Board and also the Eastern Star Society. She loved to play bid whist with her friends, and she especially loved to dance and listen to old school music. Her favorite song was "I can't help myself" by the Four Tops and she only knew one verse "sugar pie honey bunch, you know that I love you. Blanche loved life and will greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Geraldine Riddick Darden of Suffolk, VA; 3 children: Regina Stukes of the Bronx, NY, Vernon Riddick of Baltimore, MD, and Antonio Rose of Suffolk, VA, son-in-law Alton Stukes, daughter-in-law Trend Riddick, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Rose, mother Lucy Riddick and father Luther Evins: brothers John and Henry Riddick, daughter Michelle Rose and son Reginald Riddick.
