Elder Beverly V. Freeman, affectionately known as “B. Free”, gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Sentara Obici Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Gospel music in which she loved ushered her into the arms of her Heavenly Father. Beverly was a devoted member of Joy Apolostic Ministries, where she served under the tutelage of her pastor and devoted friend for over 30 years, Brenda T. Parrish. Beverly was born on December 27, 1954, in the city of Suffolk, Virginia. She was predeceased by her mother Sadie Freeman, Aunt Ida Freeman, and her grandparents Nathaniel and Alice Freeman. Beverly graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1973 and went on to have a 33-year career with Western Tidewater Community Services Board. She was a devoted and loyal employee. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Travoria Freeman Collins (Derek) her son Darnell Freeman and her “son of the heart” as she called him, Britten Weaver. She was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren, Niyah Freeman, Taylor Wilson, and Janelle Freeman. She is also survived by her aunt and very best friend, Pattie Silver, aunt Edith Freeman, and an uncle Walter Freeman (Delores) all of Suffolk, Virginia. Her godchildren, Taylor Elder and Jalesia Parrish, also loved her dearly. Daniel and Lavone Green, Laurna Taylor and Jackie Hill, her devoted friends, will also sorely miss her. Beverly also leaves to cherish her memory, a host of other special cousins, relatives and friends. Beverly was known for her love of God, her big heart, and her witty phrases.
