Beulah Mae “Pee Wee” Johnson Diggs peacefully departed this life on May 26, 2026. Born on April 15, 1950, in Nansemond County, Virginia, to Blanche and the late David Holland, Beulah lived a life rooted in love, faith, family, strength, and compassion. She was a woman whose presence brought comfort, wisdom, and warmth to everyone blessed to know her.

Beulah was the loving and devoted wife of Harvey Diggs, with whom she shared a bond built on love, loyalty, and commitment. She was also a cherished daughter to her mother, Blanche Frier, and stepfather, Herbert Frier. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, David, and her favorite nephew, James Lamont.

Beulah was a hardworking and dedicated woman who proudly retired from Planters after more than 30 years of service. She truly enjoyed her work and took pride in the relationships she built throughout the years. Known for her strong work ethic, warm spirit, and dependability, she made lasting friendships and touched the lives of many coworkers along the way. Her commitment and dedication reflected the kind of woman she was — loyal, caring, and hardworking in every area of her life.

Most importantly, Beulah was a devoted and God-fearing woman who loved the Lord wholeheartedly. She was a dedicated lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshipped for many years. She deeply loved her pastor, Rev. Dr. Anthony Copeland, First Lady J, and her church family, and found joy, strength, and peace within her church community. Her faith carried her through life’s trials and triumphs, and she remained steadfast in prayer, love, and service to others.

Above all, Beulah loved her family deeply. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and mother figure to so many. Her home was filled with love, laughter, guidance, and unforgettable home-cooked meals that brought everyone together. She believed in taking care of family, standing by those she loved, and making sure nobody around her went without support, encouragement, or prayer.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her beloved husband, Harvey Diggs; her loving mother, Blanche Frier; stepfather, Herbert Frier; and her children: Wanda, Calvin, and Joseph (Monica).

She also leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her grandchildren: Rico, Ashley, Raekwon, James, Kawnejah, and Azaveyon.

Her love will continue to live on through her treasured great-grandchildren: Jalen, Jada, Brendan, Jacaya, Rico Jr., Rikya, True, Ta'Niylah, Tylon, Tyla, Ky'Ree, Mason, TyMir, Ki'Yann, Kapri, La'Niyah, Ze'Yiana, Na'sir, Aiden, and Egypt.

Beulah also leaves behind her beloved sisters: her identical twin sister Julia; Shirley; Missouri; and Anne (Joseph).

She shared a special bond with her goddaughter, Winter; a special daughter in heart, Kariva; and a special nephew, Kamar, all of whom loved and cherished her deeply.

She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory and carry her love in their hearts.

Beulah was more than the heart of her family — she was the foundation. She was known for her caring spirit, her strength during difficult times, and her ability to make people feel loved and welcomed. Whether through a conversation, a meal prepared with love, words of wisdom, or simply being there when someone needed her most, she made an impact that can never be replaced.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the beautiful memories, lessons, and unconditional love she gave so freely throughout her life. Her legacy will forever remain alive in the hearts of her family and all who loved her.She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
