Barbara Mae Wall

On Monday, November 3, 2025, our beloved Barbara Mae Wall gently gained her heavenly wings at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was 84 years old.

Born and raised in Suffolk, Barbara was the proud daughter of the late Robert and Hazel Watson. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John Wall, and her precious daughter, Tonya Lewis (James) and we find comfort in knowing that they are joyfully reunited once again.

Barbara was a proud graduate of East Suffolk High School, Class of 1959. She dedicated over 30 years of faithful service to General Electric (GE), where her hard work, kindness, and spirit left a lasting impression on all who worked beside her.

Her faith was the heart of her life. For 74 years, Barbara was a devoted and active member of East End Baptist Church, where she found joy, strength, and community. She loved her church family deeply and lived her life as a shining example of love, grace, and service.

To know Barbara was to know warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She had a heart that welcomed everyone, a smile that could brighten any room, and a quiet strength that inspired all who knew her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever live on in her family: her grandsons James Lewis, Jr. (Paulette) of Columbia, MD; Tyree Lewis of Chesapeake, VA; and Dominique Lewis (Delorita) of Chesapeake, VA; her son-in-law James Kelly Lewis, Sr. of Suffolk, VA; her great-grandchildren Joshua, Jaiden, Anaiyah Joi, and Reina Lewis; as well as many cherished relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her loving cousin Ashley Jefferson, her caregiver Alexis Kenyetta Timmons, and the compassionate nurses and doctors at Sentara Obici Hospital for their care and kindness during Barbara’s final days.

Barbara’s earthly journey may have ended, but her love, faith, and light will forever live in our hearts.

A viewing will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at East End Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
