Barbara Gene Lewis

Barbara Gene Lewis, 58, of Oak Street, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Tuesday, April 27, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Arnetta Peele-Brown and Alphonso Brown, Sr. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Leona Russell, Helen Louise Brown, Linda Delphine Brown and Thelma Parker; brother, Alfred Brown. She attended Forest Glen High School and was a member of Gates of Heaven where she served as an Usher and sang in the choir. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Frankie Lewis; daughter, Erica N. Brown of Suffolk, VA; three sons, Keith A. Brown of Suffolk, VA,Kenneth A. Brown of Atlanta, GA and Tony Brown of Suffolk, VA; three sisters, Diane Knight-Brown, Clara May Faulk and Genice Hall; four brothers, Alphonso Brown, Jr. (Sandra), Kelvin J. Brown (Lola), Milton Brown and Earnest Brown; 11 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Gates of Heaven C.O.G.I.C, 112 Beech Street, Suffolk, VA. Elder Silver will deliver the message of comfort.
