Obituary for Barbara Ann Bond
Barbara Ann Riddick Johnson Bond was born on December 13, 1945, in Suffolk, Virginia, born to Mable and James Riddick. On June 15, 2026, Barbara transitioned peacefully, surrounded by loved ones who cherished her deeply. She is now reunited with her parents and her siblings, Marion Riddick Giles and Michael Riddick, who all preceded her in death.
Educated in the Suffolk school system, Barbara proudly worked at General Electric Company for over 10 years and contributed her talents to Smithfield Packing Company.
Barbara was a woman of great love, unwavering faith, and remarkable strength. She was the kind of person whose presence brought comfort, wisdom, and warmth to those around her. Loving and devoted to her family, she carried herself with grace, determination, and at times, the stubbornness that made her unique.
Even the challenges of aging could not diminish her independence or her desire to live life on her own terms. She remained strong-willed and resilient, never allowing her circumstances to define her spirit. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Above all, she was the heart of her family—a faithful woman whose love, prayers, and guidance will remain with us forever. Her legacy is one of perseverance, faith, and unconditional love.
She leaves behind to cherish her precious memory her daughter Sebrina (Lance) Johnson Holloman, son Sean “Shelton” Johnson, four sisters: Mildred Riddick Laury, Ann Riddick Joe, Doris (Jeffrey) Johnson, Valerie (Eric) Felton, three brothers Marvin (Cynthia) Riddick, Calvin (Joyce) Riddick and Amos (Rosemary) Riddick, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Though our hearts are broken, we are comforted knowing that her love and lessons will continue to live on through all who knew her. Her strength will forever inspire us, and her memory will forever be a blessing.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
