Barbara Jean Blanchard

Barbara Jean Blanchard was born on June 20, 1946 to the union of Rufus and Margaret C. Holland of Suffolk, Virginia. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Mr. James McCoy Blanchard.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her beloved son Kevin Lamont Blanchard and his loving wife (Susan), of Portsmouth, son Tony K. Blanchard (Shine-Amon Sky), of New York, NY, stepson, Kenneth V. Blanchard (Karen), of Upper Marlboro, MD, Brother Calvin S. Holland (Dell), of Suffolk; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Everett, Catherine Baker, and brother, Christopher Holland.

Barbara was retired from the Suffolk School System, where she devoted 18 years of service, along with working various other jobs. She was full of life and her spirit would fill up a room. She will be greatly missed.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Laurel Hill United Church of Christ. Ms. Blanchard will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Professional services with dignity, compassion, and care have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
