Barbara Ann Jones-Battle

Barbara Ann Jones Battle aka “BB” was born in Emporia Virginia on Nov. 21, 1955 to the late Paul and Annie Ruth Jones. Barbara Battle departed this life on May 2, 2022 at Obici Hospital. She attended John F Kennedy school. Barbara was married to the late Wilbert Battle. Barbara was employed as a prep cook at Plaid Turnip for 10 years until retirement. Barbara Battle was a faithful member of Living Waters Christian Center for over 23 years until her death. Barbara Battle leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Chiquita Stallings of Suffolk, Ahamad Jones of Suffolk and Nicole Jones(Jacquan Pierce) of Chesapeake. Secondly, her grandchildren: Kylea King, Kyrin King, NyKias Ovalle, Malik Ovalle, Malachi Pierce, Dominic King, Devan Jones, Ahmanii Jones and Jah’Asia White. Thirdly, two brothers Alonzo Jones(Annette) of Suffolk, Paul Person of Philadelphia; two sisters, Helen Smith of Richmond and Shirley Adkins of Emporia. Finally, she leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Barbara’s deceased sisters were Jean Smith and Ernestine Jones both of Suffolk. A viewing will be held 1:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held noon Monday, May 9, 2022 at New First Baptist Church, 1105 Hosier Road, Suffolk, VA. Apostle Chris Watson will deliver the message of comfort.
