Barbara Ann Beamon

April 10, 1954 — December 3, 2020

On December 3, 2020 Barbara Ann Beamon, our loving sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend departed this earthly life. At the time of her passing she was 66 years old. Barbara was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late William Elmer and Lucy Mae Beamon. She was a 1972 graduate of IC Norcom High School. She later pursued additional studies at Tidewater Community College. Barbie joined Noble Street Baptist Church at the tender age of 8 years old. A lifelong commitment and service to her God was then sealed and she remained steadfast to her faith until the end. Initially starting her career as health care provider, she retired from Pearl Vision Center approximately 20 years ago. Barbara dearly loved her family and maintained several early developed friendships from more than forty years. Several years prior to adverse health, she was an avid walker and walked as much as 10 miles a day. Barbie’s favorite pastime included listening to gospel music, fiery sermons, and shopping. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her sisters Bettie Mann and Elenora Beamon. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters Marian Beamon-Bagley (Eddie) of Colonial Heights, VA, Priscilla Upshur (Marvin) of Chesapeake, VA and Katie Beamon Eley (Tyrone) of Portsmouth, VA. She also leaves behind brothers Robert and William Beamon of Norfolk, VA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. A public viewing will be held on Friday between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home in Suffolk, VA. The family will not be in attendance. Private service will be held on Saturday at the same location. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Barbara Ann Beamon, please visit our flower store.
