Ashoneya Williams, 21, of Suffolk, VA, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was a native of Suffolk, Virginia and raised in Fairfax, Virginia, born to Milton V. Williams and Shandrika Williams. Ashoneya was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Richard A. Williams (Cathy). Ashoneya was raised in Fairfax, VA by her paternal grandmother, Minister Teresinia “Candy” Lassiter and her special cousins Ashanta & Derek Solomon. Ashoneya graduated from Falls Church High School in 2020. She was a star student and well versed in extracurricular activities. Her highlight was starting high school as a freshman varsity cheerleader and ending her senior year as the Captain of her cheering squad. She was also a traveling competitive cheerleader. Ashoneya was simply an all-around athlete, with volleyball being her favorite sport out of them all. She played with her sister Miracle, and they were affectionately known locally as the “Williams sisters”. Ashoneya was an active member of Highview Christian Fellowship Church, Fairfax, VA from the tender age of 5 until she moved to Smithfield with her mother. Her favorite things to do in the church were dancing and singing. She was a part of Sunday School, the Youth Ministry, Praise Dance Ministry, and sang in the children’s Sunshine Choir, moved up to the Youth Choir, and ultimately sang in the Adult Choir. Ashoneya was a sought after soloist while singing with a gospel group known as the Daughter’s of Thunder. She had the voice of an angel, now singing in the Heavenly Choir. Ashoneya loved her family dearly; she was especially fond of the younger children of the family, often times being the family babysitter. She lovingly leaves to cherish her memory: her parents, Shandrika Williams and Milton V. Williams (Yolanda) of Suffolk, VA, paternal grandmother, Minister Teresinia “Candy” Lassiter, maternal grandparents, Debra Williams and Marvin Morris, Siblings: Tanyia Warren, Kendall Solomon, Miracle, Za’Marion, Zyon, Milton Jr., and Lincoln Williams, Aja, Ashanti, Adrienne, and Robert Mills, Jr. and Kymani White.
