Arthur Sylvester Clemons, Sr.

Arthur Clemons, 83, of Dover Court, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned  Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his residence. He was the son of the late Jessie Clemons and Lloyd Clemons, Sr.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by spouse Melvin Clemons and two brothers, Lloyd Clemons, Jr and Thomas Clemons, Sr. He retired after 35 years of faithful and dedicated service at Lipton Tea Company in the Maintenance Department. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Rosa Ralph, of Suffolk, VA and Jeanette Flood of Portsmouth, VA; four sons, Victor White (Tabitha) of Waverly, VA, Timothy Clemons and Arthur Clemons, Jr. (Ana) both of Suffolk, VA and George Clemons (Angel) of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Virginia Moore of Suffolk, VA and Rosa Holland (William) both of Suffolk, VA; brother, John Clemons (Francine) of Sedley, VA; 11 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Greater First Baptist Church Orlando, 600 Factory Street, Suffolk, VA 23434. Rev. Betty Ann Montgomery will deliver the message of comfort. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, Virginia.
