Arthur L. Burton passed away on June 11, 2024, at age 57. The son of the late Arthur L. Burton II and Mae N. Murry Taylor. He was born on October 15, 1966, in Bronx, NY. He passed away at Sentra Care plex Hospital in Hampton Virgina where he was residing.
Arthur received his GED an went on the to further his education and accomplishing his bachelor’s degree in business administration, master’s in in Early Childhood Education, and a PhD in Theology. Throughout his life journey, Arthur faith moved forward from Lutheran to Baptist which provided him with strength and comfort in times of need.
Arthur was a man of diverse talents, interests and hobbies. He found joy in writing screenplays and playing video games, He had a wide-range taste in music with favorite bands and artists. He loved watching TV shows that brought him countless hours of laughter and entertainment, shows like Everybody Hates Chris, Kings of Queens and countless others. Let’s not forget his favorite movies Friday, Next Friday, and Friday After Next The list goes on. He loved fried chicken and chicken and rice; he took great pleasure in indulging in these delicious dishes.
Throughout his life, Arthur showed his dedication and commitment to helping the people in the community. He served as an Auxiliary Police Officer, EMT in New York City, Fugitive Recovery Agent, Arthur impact increased beyond his immediate circle, as he actively participated in an Action Network in New York, assisting community members in finding employment. He was Security Officer for Hampton University. His true passion lay in his work as an IT specialist, where he found great satisfaction working on computers or rebuilding them for others. He also was a substitute teacher leaving a lasting impact on the young minds that he encountered. He provided invaluable guidance and support to those around him.
Arthur was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Leaving to cherish his fond memories, a wife of 36 years Tracey L. Burton, two daughter, Natalie Wille Scott of High Pont, NC, Justina Burton (Curtis Hill), two sons, Arthur Burton IV (Liz) of New York, Freddie Burton of Palm Beach Fl, nine grandchildren that meant the world to him, Destiny, Joy, Amari, ZOE, Arielle, Haile, Zarah, Magan, Noah, one great grandchild on the way, three sisters Diedra Burton of Bronx New York, Maya Burton of Bronx New York, Serena Starling (Charles) of Wyandanch New York, one brother, Kyle Burton of Wyandanch New York, one niece Elisheva Burton of Philadelphia PA, one nephew Elijah Burton of Bronx New York, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
Arthur will be deeply missed by family and friends and those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, June 29, 2024 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
