Antonio (Tony) Franchot Rose was born in Suffolk, VA on December 19, 1960 to Blanche and Vernon Rose. Tony was the 4th child of 5 children. As a young child his family moved to New York City from Suffolk, VA. As an adult Tony moved back to to Virginia. Tony was educated through the New York City school system. Tony’s favorite things to do was reading and playing chess. He was an avid player and a master in the game and could out play almost anyone. As Tony’s health declined he peacefully entered into his eternal rest on January 20th, 2023 in Fredericksburg, VA. Preceding Tony in death are his parents Blanche and Vernon Rose, his grandmothers, Lucy Riddick and Julia Rose, sister Michelle Rose, his brother Reginald Riddick, uncle John Riddick, and great-uncle Charles L. Riddick Tony leaves to cherish his loving memory, his aunt Geraldine Darden, uncle Henry Riddick (New York), sister Regina Stukes & husband Alton (Bronx, New York), brother Vernon Rose & wife Trend (Baltimore, MD), nieces & nephews: Crystal Sheard Miller & husband Randall, Latoya Sheard & Lamar Sheard, Tamieka, Desirae, & Shamar Riddick, Sheaquan & Nicole Rose and Jermaine Rivera, a host of great nieces, nephews and friends. Tony will be missed immensely but will forever live in our hearts. A public viewing will be held 12 - 1pm, Saturday, February 4, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, February 4, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. Rev. Wilbert C. Adams will deliver the message of comfort.
