Ann Marie Williams Sharpe, 90, of Portsmouth, transitioned peacefully at her residence on November 27, 2020. Ann was born in Holland Virginia to the late Elcanian and Lala Williams. She was one of five children. Ann was a graduate of East Suffolk High School. Learning was always important to her. She took courses in various areas including evangelism, sewing, upholstery, cake decorating, etc. Additionally, she was an avid reader and student of the bible. Ann was no stranger to hard work. She would take on a job and work to the best of her ability to complete the task assigned to her. God blessed her to retire from (Sentra) Norfolk General Hospital after 22 years of service. Ann was devoted to the faith. She was a member of East End Baptist Church and an honorary lifetime member of Six Street Baptist Church both of Suffolk. She served in various capacities in the church, spreading the good news. Psalm 23 was her comfort and guide throughout her years. Even her name bears witness, for Ann Williams Sharpe means a keen, determined protector having grace and favor. Ann loved her family. From her marriage to the late Walter Sharpe, Sr., she is survived by her five children: Donald Williams, Walter S. (Seneca) Davis, Phyllis Sharpe, Violene Sharpe, and Eric (Gloria) Sharpe, her grandchildren: Arron White, Yvonne Davis, Dominique Hudson, Jonathan Sharpe, and Stacey Sharpe, her great-grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews’, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and four siblings: Vernon Williams Sr, Nathaniel Williams, Larry Williams, and Alice Williams Bembury. Ann Sharpe’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at East End Baptist Church, Suffolk VA on December 3,2020 at 12 noon. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk VA.
