Alvin Thomas Wiggins, son of Flettice Bowers (deceased) and Mildred Wiggins Cooper was born August 28, 1956, in Franklin, VA.
He attended John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk, VA, became a Certified Master Glass Technician and auto mechanic of over 45 years, opened his own business, Al’s Auto Glass and Storefronts in Suffolk, VA which he operated for seventeen years with his wife before retiring. Upon retirement he continued operating the business part time doing mobile orders.
Alvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and business owner. He enjoyed watching Westerns, Mudding, joking with friends and family, riding his Gold Wing, driving his tractors and collecting sports cars.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 25 years Charlene Scott-Wiggins of Corapeake, NC, four children: Travis Flood of Richmond, VA, Torrance Harden of Suffolk, VA, Timeka Harden of Smithfield, VA, and Sharmin Scott of Eatonton, GA. His ten loving siblings: Dana Harris of Elizabeth City, NC, Ralph Bowers of Hampton, VA, Cleveland Robertson, Jr. of Gates, NC, Henry Bowers (Kathy) of Montgomery Village, MD, Valerie Harris (deceased), Prince Bowers (Cheryl) of Como, NC, Melisa Veal of Gates, NC, Maythenia Dunn of Franklin, VA, Ronnie Robertson of Newport New, VA and LuCinda Burchett of Newark, NJ, a loving stepfather Cleveland Robertson Sr. of Suffolk, VA, fourteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and God Children who will continue to honor his memory and carry forth his spirit in their lives.
Alvin’s departure is a painful loss, but his memory will forever be in our hearts. We love him deeply and he will never be forgotten.
A public viewing will be held 1-6pm, Sunday, June 1, 2025 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 11:30am, Monday, June 2, 2025 at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries. Mr. Wiggins will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
