Alvin Simpson, son of the late Herbert Mason and Mary Virginia Simpson, was born April 15, 1947. He attended the public schools in Suffolk, Virginia.He was the son of the late Mary Virginia Simpson and Herbert Mason, he was also preceded in death by his son, Alvin Richardson. Alvin enlisted in the United States Army serving in Vietnam. Upon discharge from the Army Alvin received a honorable discharge and deemed 100% disabled. Alvin was known by friends and associates as a person who loved the good times and the party life. Likewise, he was known as someone who would do a favor or lend a helping hand. Alvin was also known for his love of sports, particularly his love for the Washington Redskins Football Team. Alvin leaves to mourn a devoted daughter, Latoya Richardson; brother, Larry Mason; grandchildren, Christian Jones and Kalia Robinson, a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
