Alvester Simmons

Alvester Simmons, 62, of Forest Oak Lane, Suffolk, Virginia transitioned Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was the son of the late Rosa Goodman and Thomas Goodman. He retired from Kraft Heinz Foods after 36 years of faithful and dedicated service. He was also a member of New Paul's Temple Holinesss Church of Deliverance where he served as Deacon, Trustee,  and sung in the Male Chorus.  He leaves to cherish his memory is daughter, Charnita Kindred; son, Deon Kindred; four sisters, Deloise Slaughter, Janie Gates-Moore (Tyrone), Alfleta Parker (Roy), and Lillian Bonds; four brothers, George Simmons, Sr. (Wilma), Lepolda Simmons, Randolph Simmons, and Linwood Simmons; grandchild, Ra'Quan Wilson; and a host of relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held noon, June 4, 2019 at New Paul's Temple. Elder Sylvester Silver will deliver the message of comfort. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
