Algernon "Poolie" Elton Morris, Jr. (51) was born on October 25, 1972 in Louisa County, VA. He made his transition on May 11, 2024. Algernon was born to the late Algernon Elton Morris, Sr. He was raised on Railroad Ave until his father's death; he then moved to Battery Ave at young age with his late great Aunt Sallie W. Bracy.
Algernon attended Forest Glen High School where he played basketball and was a graduate of Lakeland High School. He was an avid forklift driver. He continued to work until his health started to decline. He loved to dance, play cards, and most of all, make people laugh. Algernon truly loved his family and friends. The love he showed was always shown back to him.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother, Zennie W. Morris of Chesapeake; two daughters, Auriona Morris and Armetria Morris, both of Suffolk; a brother, Michael Morris of Chesapeake; a sister, Hellen Morris of Chesapeake; two aunts, Matilda Woodley of Suffolk and CeCe Morris of Greensville, NC; one great uncle, Linwood Daughtery of Norfolk; stepfather, Lawrence Brown of Suffolk; a stepsister, Carolyn B. Johnson of Suffolk; one nephew, Da'Quan Morris of Chesapeake; devoted cousins, Keith Phelps and Deshong Woodley, both of Suffolk; and a host of cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held 11:30am - 1:00pm, Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Rising St. James PHC, with a celebration of life immediately following at 1pm. Bishop Aaron Porter, Sr. will deliver the message of comfort. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
