On Monday, September 8, 2025, Albert passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 30, 1948, in Charlotte County, VA, to the late Horace Parson Sr. and Rassie Parson. Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Shina Parson, his parents, and his brothers, James Davis and Victor Parson.
Albert graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1966 and pursued further education at Norfolk State College (now Norfolk State University) until 1969. During the Vietnam era, he was drafted into the Army in February 1969 and served until February 1971. He dedicated 33 years to the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk, VA, retiring in 2003.
He was a member of East End Baptist Church, where he developed his love for studying the Bible. Throughout his life, he enjoyed barbering, mall walking, and crafting beaded jewelry. As a passionate jazz enthusiast, he found joy and comfort in its rhythms and melodies.
Albert leaves behind his loving daughters, Aneika Tatem (Kim) and Alva Jackson (Mario), along with six beloved grandchildren: Tiffany Parson, Taja’Aunna Parson, Joseph Parson, Ja’Kym Tatem, Mario Jackson II, and AvaMarie Jackson. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, his brother Horace Parson Jr. (Betty), his sister Stephanie Croker (Rick), and numerous cherished nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A public viewing will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at East End Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
