Albert Lee Riddick

Albert Lee "Bud" Riddick was born to the late James B. Riddick and Carrie M. Riddick on October 25, 1944 in Suffolk, VA. 'Bud' as his family and friends affectionately called him, received his education in the Suffolk Public School System. Bud was an honest, loyal, and hardworking husband and father. He began his career at an early age at Newport News Shipbuilding where he retired after over thirty years. During his younger years, hunting and fishing was his favorite past time. Once retired, he enjoyed working in his yard on his lawn equipment, and walking his best friend, "Buddy". He loved helping his family and friends by providing rides, cutting grass, working on home improvement projects, and visiting the Roberts In-Home Family Child Care Center. Bud transitioned peacefully in his home on Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Roye Riddick. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Lisa Roberts and son-in-law Curtis Roberts, Sr. of Suffolk, VA; sister Mamie Vinson (Henry) of Lindenwold, NJ; two brothers Wilbert Brown (Barbara) of Portsmouth, VA, Alphonso Harris (Barbara) of Suffolk, VA; two grandchildren Curtis Roberts, Jr. of Suffolk, VA, Chantel Roberts of, Hampton, VA; three nephews Henry Vinson, Jr. (Rosalyn) Sicklerville, NJ, Michael Vinson of Lindenwold, NJ, Mark Vinson of Pine Hill, NJ, two devoted cousins Antonio Pruden, and Martha "Puddin" Johnson, his best friend Buddy, and a host of cousins. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Sixth Street Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
