Ada Harrell-Willis

Missionary Ada Harrell-Willis, 72, of Logan Place, Newport News, Virginia transitioned Friday, November 8, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Gates County, N.C to the late Elder H.M. Harrell and Sister Luella Harrell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death her sister, Mary Ann Daily and brothers, Dennis Harrell and James Harrell.

She loved listening and watching several Gospel & Inspirational Ministries. She was a member of Greater New Hope C.O.G.I.C under the leadership of her father, Elder H.M. Harrell and later joined her son's church. She retired from Caspari as an order-fill laborer. She also worked at Planters Peanut Company.

Missionary Harrell-Willis is survived by her son, Elder Rahbin Willis (Regina); two grandchildren, Parik Willis and Rakeema Willis; four sisters, Evangelist Pearlie Smith (Deacon Curtis Smith) of Suffolk, Michelle Armstrong (Tommy) , Sharry Harrell both of Suffolk and Thelma Strong on Newport News; four brothers, Thurman Harrell (Rudean) of Suffolk, Walter Harrell of Newport News and Dallas Harrell and Larry Harrell (Laverne) both of Suffolk, VA; in-laws, Sarah Thomas of Philadelphia, Michael Willis of Chesapeake, Tonia Willis of Suffolk, Bridgitte Willis Townsell (John) of Newport News, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 A viewing will be held 12-5 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held noon, Monday, November 25, 2024 at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries. She will be laid to rest in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. The family will receive guest at the home of Deacon Curtis and Evangelist Pearlie Smith, 507 Riddick Circle, Suffolk, VA 23434.
