Lillie Mae Dixon Jordan Hinton

Lillie Hinton, 89, of Hampton, Virginia passed away on January 12, 2018 in Suffolk, Virginia.Mrs. Hinton was born in Nansemond County, Virginia to the late Clara Holley Dixon and Elijah Dixon on July 24, 1928. She married Elijah Jordan, and from that union was six children. Later, she married Leonard Hinton.She was educated in the Nansemond County Public School System. Lille graduated from Dixie School of Nursing in Hampton, Virginia as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She retired from Riverside Hospital after more than 40 years of nursing.Mrs. Hinton was a member of Gates of Heaven Church of God In Christ where she served on the Mother's Board. She is a former member of First Baptist Church, Orlando in Suffolk, Virginia.Mrs. Hinton was preded in death by her husband Leonard Hinton and her beloved twins Cecil Jordan and Cecile Jordan; grandchildren, Terrell Jordan and Sherry Silver Brown.Mrs. Hinton is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Simpson of Hampton, Virginia, Bevery Jean Barrios of Suffolk, Virginia, Linda Silver (Sylvester) of Suffolk, Virginia; son, Andrew Garrison Jordan (Diane) of Hampton, Virginia; seventeen grandchildren; thirty nine great-grandchildlren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18m at Gates of Heaven C.O.G.I.C.
