Gloria Eason

On August 27, 2017, Gloria Ann Eason received her crown of peace and her invitation to join the heavenly angels because her work on Earth was done. Gloria was a graduate of Norfolk State University, and an employee at Norshipco until retirement.  Gloria was a faithful member of Canaan Baptist Church where she served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and Director. Gloria was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda Chatman, and great grand-daughter Sare`Parker. Gloria is survived by her husband Donald Eason; children, Darryl Jennings (Tonya), Rachelle Jennings, Algenon Jennings, Latonya White (Carlton), Senecia McNeil (Mike), Waltina Eason; two sisters, Barbara Thomas, Bettie Mayfield; one brother, Lacy Chatman; one aunt, Stella Powell; father-in-law, Walter Eason (Elaine); one brother-in-law, Arnold Eason; two sisters-in-law, Yvonne Eason and Cheryl Hawk (Tracy); seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a loving devoted care giver, July Drayton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.  Gloria was loved by many and will be truly missed. A funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Canaan Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Vernon Hairston. Interment will be in Canaan Church Cemetery.
