Florence Lois Carr

Florence Ruffin Carr entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Consulate Healthcare of Windsor. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was born on September 6, 1928. She was the daughter of the late John Ruffin and Mattie Eley Ruffin. She was preceded in death by her husband Solomon Carr. Florence was a graduate of Isle of Wight Training School. She retired as a Domestic Worker and was a faithful member of Chapel Grove United Church of Christ. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Lois Carr of Suffolk, VA, Vernell Carr of Windsor, VA, Merdell Simmons (Vernon) of Virginia Beach, VA and Flora Ford (Darrel) of Elgin, SC; son, Morris Carr of Windsor, VA; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Chapel Grove United Church of Christ 7366 W. Blackwater Road, Windsor, VA 23487. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
