Rudolph "Big Mac" McCloud, 73 of Gates Road, Suffolk, VA transitioned Saturday, August 19, 2017 in Suffolk, VA. He was a native of Pantego, North Carolina and the son of the late Charlie Edward McCloud, Sr. and Lula Spencer McCloud. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda J. Taylor and Angenora Freddrick; two brothers, Lyndell McCloud and Charlie McCloud, Jr. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, handyman and a certified “jokester”. McCloud served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He also had a life long career as a truck driver. He leaves to cherish his memory: former wife, life-long friend, and mother of his children Varia McCloud of Suffolk, VA, one daughter, Taynelle McCloud Young (Colvin) of Singapore, Singapore; one son, Antoine “Rudell” McCloud (Chastity) of Newport News, VA; sister, Rosa McCloud Thigpen (Thurman) of Bridgeport, CT; brothers, James E. McCloud of Norfolk, VA, Jimmy G. McCloud of Bronx, NY, Floyd R. McCloud (Linora) of Odenton, MD, John McCloud (Edith) of Pantego, NC; two grandchildren (and one expecting) along with three granddogs ; there are many other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 6100 Holy Neck Road, Suffolk. His remains will be placed in the columbarium at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk at a later date. Professional services with dignity have been provided by Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
