Mar’Kail Juan “Kellz” Townsell, 29, fell into eternal sleep at 12:36am, Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Mar’Kail was born November 1st, 1987, in Windsor, Virginia. He grew up in Central Hill and attended schools in Windsor and Smithfield. He played football as a Phoebus Phantom and graduated from Phoebus High School, Class of 2006 in Hampton, Virginia. Mar’Kail had a passion for football and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Mar’Kail then relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to attend Phoenix College where he continued to play football. He lived there for 9 years. In 2014, Mar’Kail moved back home. He then began employment at Walmart Distribution center where lifelong friendships began. Mar’Kail had a passion for food and dreamed of opening his own restaurant. Earlier this year, Mar’Kail would find his heart at Pizza Hut and was proud to be the General Manager in Hampton. Mar’Kail’s deposition is best described as kind, helpful, and patient. He would greet everyone with a smile and loved to hug. Mar’Kail truly loved his big family. He held a special relationship with each one of us. He was most proud of being a big brother to Markus and MarKari. While Mar’Kail stood tall at 6’9”, wearing Jordan’s size 22, his heart was just as big. He was our Gentle Giant. Mar’Kail leaves to cherish his memories, his mother and father figure, La’Tisha Townsell and Charles Taliaferro Sr.; his father, Julio Rodriguez (Jacquelyn); siblings, Markus and Markari Taliaferro, Charles Jr. and Kiana Taliaferro, Timothy, Carlos, and Renaldo Rodriguez, Telisa Lassiter and Camron Parker; grandmother, Christine Townsell; aunt, Crystal Townsell; uncle, Dal Townsell Jr.; cousins, Malachi and Hezekiah Spruill, and Imani Townsell; best friend, Larry Harrison and countless family members. Mar’Kail was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dal Major Townsell Sr. and uncle, Milton Theodore Townsell. A Celebration of Life service with his ashes will be Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 at 11:00am at Crocker Funeral Home, 900 E. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434. Refreshments will be provided following at the residence of Christine Townsell. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
