Allie Irene McDuffie

Allie Irene McDuffie, 90, of Smith Street,Suffolk,Va transitioned Sunday,July 2,2017 at Kindred Transitional Care-Nansemond Pointe. She was born to Sallie Mae Hall Ballard and Noah Hall in Gatesville, NC. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James McDuffie, brothers, Cliff Ballard, Fred Ballard, sisters, Naomi Hill and Frances Jones.She was a graduate of T.S. Cooper High School. She retired from John Yates Middle School and was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church where she was a member of No.2 Choir and Senior Usher Board and Pastors Aid. She was also a member of Golden Gate Temple No. 90She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Mary J. Neville of Suffolk, VA; three sons, Milton Eley, Jr, Ronald S. Eley (Tracey) both of Suffolk, VA and Melvin Eley of Richmond, VA; God daughter, Rachel Davis of Suffolk, VA; sister, Ruth Hall Ballard of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Cornelius, Precious, Joshua and Amber; great grandchild, Mariah; brother-in-law, Donald Hill; niece, Linda Hill; nephew, Glen Hill; a host of cousins and friends.A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. She will be laid to rest in Flat Branch Cemetery, Gatesville, N.C. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
