Willie James Claiborne

Willie James Claiborne, 61, of Portsmouth, Virginia transitioned Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. He was the son of the late William Claiborne and Margaret Parrish Claiborne. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Lee Parrish, Larry Darnell Parrish; sisters, Ruth Elois Harris, Mary Ann Brock, Alice Parrish Wilson and Jacqueline Claiborne. Willie attended Suffolk Public and was a former Welder at J.P. W Fabricating Company. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Theresa Claiborne; three daughters, Dawn Simmons of Syracuse, NY, Roxanne Scott and Willonda Scott both of Suffolk; four sons, Aaron Claiborne, Thomas Simmons and Aaron Simmons all of Syracuse, NY and Thyrone Scott of Portsmouth, VA; sister, Virginia Parrish Lewis of Suffolk; brothers, John Parrish (Virginia) of Windsor, William Earl Parrish and Raymond Parrish (Gwen) both of Suffolk; aunts, Edna Gholston and Bertha Mae Power; uncle, Mac Lassiter; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.A celebration of life will be held noon Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Faith Temple Ministries.
