Rev. William D. Wiggins, Sr.

Pastor William Donnell Wiggins, Sr.,58, of Gates, N.C transitioned Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was the son of the late George and Mamie Wiggins. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School c/o 1977 and also of Roanoke Theological College. He was currently employed as a Shipfitter with Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was the Senior Pastor of Joppa Missionary Baptist Church in Hobbsville, NC. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary D. Wiggins of Gates, NC; two daughters, Kimberly W. Johnson (Elmore) of Gates, NC and Vicki Wiggins of Greensboro, NC; son, Rev. William D. Wiggins, Jr. (Heather) of Hampton, VA; two sisters, Jean Riddick and Sylvia Wiggins both of Suffolk, VA; three brothers, Thomas Wiggins (Beulah), Clifton Jones and Leon Wiggins (Cheryl) of Suffolk, VA; six grandchildren; aunt, Margaret Boone of Gates, VA; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. A celebration of life will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Joppa Missionary Baptist Church, 1271 Acorn Hill Road, Hobbsville, NC 27946. Rev. William D.
