Rev. Dr. Maurice R. Scott

Rev. Dr. Maurice Reid Scott, 71 of Centerbrooke Lane, Suffolk, VA transitioned Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County (Suffolk) and the daughter of Inez Copeland and the late Wallace Copeland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Scott. She attended Andersonville Theological Seminary and received a doctorate in Theology. She was the pastor of Word for Living Full Gospel Fellowship Center, Inc. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Martha Parker (Alvin), Sherry Rowe, Felicia Carroll all of Suffolk; four sons, Fred R. Scott (Anita) of Chesterfield, VA, Shelley Scott of Suffolk, Robert Scott (Rosalind) of Douglasville, GA and James Scott (Tyiesha) of Suffolk; twenty two grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; special cousins raised as brothers and sisters, Thomas Foreman, Jr., Elmore “Cooke” Copeland, Lawrence Foreman and Marva Foreman Jenkins; other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries officiated by Pastor Jermaine Scates.
