Claude Donald Belgrave

Claude Donald Belgrave, 79, gained his wings on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was native of New York and the son of the late Charles Augustus Belgrave and Myra Elizabeth Belgrave. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florastine Belgrave; son, Anthony A. Belgrave; two brothers, Charles Augustus Belgrave, II and Alan Edward Belgrave. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Bronx, New York. He served in the Airforce and retired after numerous years of dedicated service from Newport News Shipyard. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Janet Belgrave; one daughter, Carla C. Brown(David A. Brown, Jr.); one son, Claude D. Belgrave, Jr.; two step daughters, Jessica Gill and Monica Bell; grandchildren, Ashley Charisse Brown, Mariah Weaver, Julian and Ruben Villalobes-Flores, Jasper Bell, III; nephews, Charles Belgrave, III and Reno Belgrave, Albert Ortiz, Jr.; nieces, Lisa Bilton, Maria Ortiz, Pamela Ortiz and a host of other family and friends. A celebration of life will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Minister Larry Gibbs will deliver the eulogy. He will be laid to rest on Monday, March 27, 2017 in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Condolences to the Belgrave family may be extended to www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
