During the early morning hours of Monday March 6, 2017, God accepted into His arms the soul of Herman Ward, Jr. after a long and aggressive illness. He was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Herman & Louise Ward, Sr. He was predeceased by a sister Clementine Jackson and a brother Waverly Ward. He was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church and a member of the Usher Board. Herman retired from Warrior Express after 38 years of service.
Left to cherish his legacy are four daughters Diane Ward of Newport News, VA, Annette Custis (Michael) of Chesapeake, VA, Sharon Moore & Tonya Moore, both of Suffolk, VA; three sons, Alvin Ward of Hampton, VA, Ricky Ward (Adrienne)of Omaha, NE and Darryl Ward (Zina) of Newport News, VA; one brother Vernon Ward, Sr of Windsor, VA; one sister Shirley Lyons of Hampton, VA; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a special friend Ms. Doris Marie Beale of Portsmouth, VA and a host of other relatives.A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Christian Home Baptist Church 20123 Longview Drive, Windsor, VA 23487. He will be laid to rest in Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
