Ozzie Washington Johnson

Ozzie Washington Johnson, 83, of Sumter, SC transitioned peacefully to be with God the Father on Friday, February 17, 2017. She was born in Highpoint, NC to the late Arthur Washington and Maude Mary Shelton Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Johnson, Sr. and daughter Pearlie Mae Johnson. She was the Mother of Mt. Zion Church in Newport News, Virginia. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, JoAnn Cooper of Sumter, SC; four sons, Charles Johnson, Jr. (Luetta) of Suffolk, VA, Arthur Lee Washington (Laverne) of Newport News, VA, Edward Johnson (Velma) of Norfolk, VA and Newvit Washington, Jr of Capron, VA; 30 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
