Wesley "Buddy" Bernard Owens

Wesley Bernard Owens, 75, affectionately known as Buddy, was born June 29, 1941, in Nansemond County, Virginia, to Joe Thomas and Lenno Skeeter Owens. He was the youngest of six children.He received his early education at Hosier Lane School #2 in Nansemond County (City of Suffolk), Virginia. He was employed by Art Ray Corporation, and worked industrioulsy until the time of his retirement. At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Mt. Ararat Christian Church. Wesley enjoyed fishing and hunting as extracurricular activities.He was preceded in death by his kparents, Joe Thomas and Lenno Skeeter Owens; sister, Margaret Owens Smith; and brother, Joe Henry Owens. He leaves to cherish in his memory three sisters, Kathleen Owens Simmons of Portsmouth, VA; Lennora Owens Skeeter of Suffolk, VA; Marice owens Griffith of Portsmouth, VA; two foster siblings, Earl Eley (Jannine) of Chesapeake, VA; Gloria Perry of Suffolk, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and one dearly beloved nephew Quentin Perry.  A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2016 in the Melvin J.
