Herman Haskins

Herman Lee Haskins entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his residence in Suffolk, VA. He is the son of the late Linwood and Louise Warren Haskins. He was born on January 30, 1932 in Southampton County, VA.Herman accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age at Gilfield Baptist Church. He was employed as a Farmer, Luter Packing Plant, Benthal and Hobbs where he retired after 32 years.On February 20, 1954 he married Mildred Lee Elam who preceded him in death. To this union they have one child, Tammy Bonita Haskins Jones (Kenneth). Herman also has a daughter Cloria Groon(Johnnie) and God-daughter, Cynthia Johnson (Marla); six grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence Haskins (Sara) and Bennito Haskins; sisters Catherine Wiggins and Barbara Whitfield all of Suffolk; three brothers-in-law, James T. Elam, Sr, Frank D. Elam, Sr and Matthew L. Elam (Brenda); two sisters-in-law, Catherine E. Butler and Florence L. Elam; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, relatives and friends.A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 9000 Firetower Road. Rev. James Elam, Jr will deliver the eulogy. He will be laid to rest in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
