Jacquelyn D. Williams of Suffolk departed this life on Thursday, July 21, 2016. A native of Nansemond County (now Suffolk), Virginia, she was born on May 24, 1962. She was the daughter of Virginia M. Clark.
Ms. Williams was educated in the public schools of Suffolk and graduated in 1980 from Forest Glen High School. She was employed as a Department Manager at Wal-Mart in Suffolk (North Main Street) for 22 years. She received the Department Manager of the Year Award in 1998. She also received other awards for her outstanding work and dedication. While at Wal-Mart, she touched many lives including the customers and her fellow employees.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Carlos A. Williams and her daughter, Cheryl P. Williams, both of Suffolk; her mother, Virginia M. Clark of Suffolk; three brothers, Larry Clark and Brian Clark both of Suffolk and Phillip Clark (Katrina) of Hyattsville, MD; one sister Latonya S. Clark of Portsmouth; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The celebration of her life will be held noon Tuesday, July 26,2016 at Laurel Hill United Church of Christ,8001 South Quay Road, Suffolk with the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Sweat, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. The boy will lie in repose prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
