Warren Eugene Gwaltney,48, of Portsmouth, Va passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at his mother's home in Windsor, Va. Born in Nansemond County Va. July 22, 1967 to Bernice Bowers Gwaltney and the late Andrew Gus Gwaltney, Sr. He was preceded in death by a sister Helen Gwaltney.He was educated in Isle of Wight School System. He was employed with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for over 20 years.Warren was a caring, loving, generous and devoted husband, father, son, brother, confidant and a true friend.He leaves to cherish his memory his loving, devoted and caring mother in which he showed his love for his mother everyday Mrs. Bernice Bowers Gwaltney of Windsor, Va; wife, Bethola "Byrd" Gwaltney of Portsmouth, Va.; two daughters Wanisha Latrice Gwaltney and LaToya Tramaine Gilliam of Portsmouth, Va; two sisters, LaVerne Gwaltney Wrenn (George) of Newport News and Bernice Bonita Gwaltney (Lonzia) of Portsmouth; three brothers, Andrew Gus Gwaltney Jr., Barry Anthony Gwaltney (Nicole) and Spencer Uzzle all of Portsmouth, Va; four grandchildren Lytaejah, Makayla, Ryhiem and Taquan of Portsmouth, Va; mother-in-law, Betty S. Gilliam; Three aunts; three uncles; three sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; special friend Michael Gary; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in the Melvin J.
