Steven Jordan

Steven Jordan, Sr.,55, transitioned June 2, 2016 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was the son of Eva Jean Jordan Cheeks and the late Amos Tillery Jr. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his brother Antione Cheeks. Steven was a graduate of Suffolk High School and Elizabeth City State University. He retired in 2012. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Eva Jean Jordan Cheeks (Herbert), two daughters, Nicole E. Jordan and Jazmine Campos; son, Steven Jordan Jr.; three sisters, Vanito D. Jordan, Megan Grant and Shelia Cheeks; four brothers, Herbert Cheeks, Andre Cheeks and Eugene Cheeks; step-mother, Tomasina Tillery; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday June 9, 2016 at Faith Temple Ministries. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
