William King

William King, 95 formerly of Suffolk, VA died Friday, May 13, 2016 in Charlotte, NC at the Peak Resources Center. He was a native of Bertie County, NC and the son of the late Madison King and Amanda Veale. He was preceded by eleven sisters and brothers. He retired from Lipton Tea Company. He was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church and former President of the Male Ushers and Senior Ushers. Mr. King was a World War II veteran. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Angela K. Eure of Concord, NC, Ethel K. Johnson (Bishop Wallace), Vivian K. Thomas both of Suffolk; son, Floyd King, Jr. of Suffolk; grandchildren, Dennis Walker (Chentel) of Charlotte, NC, Anthony Walker (Cha’tearia) of Hampton, VA, Terrence King of Tappahannock, VA; Tracey K. Cross (Glen), Sonya Jordan (John), Tonya Harris (John), Trenton Thomas, Felicia Thomas, Talisha Champagne (Tyrell), Shawn Johnson all of Suffolk; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at St. Timothy Baptist Church officiated by Bishop Carlton Upton. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
