May 18, 1945 — April 11, 2016

On Monday, April 11, 2016 God called home our beloved Frank Solomon Lewis. Solomon (Bubba) son of the Late Lottie M. Lewis and Frank S. Lewis was born in Suffolk, VA. on May 18, 1945. Even though Solomon was not educated through the Suffolk Public School system, he learned and performed many trades. He worked on houses, drove long distance trucks, auto mechani and also followed in his grandfathers footsteps and became a Logger. Logging was one of his first loves and he started his own company named Lewis Logging located in Suffolk, VA. He loved enjoying family and friends having backyard cookouts and barbecuing pigs. After knowing Gilda for many years he confessed his love when they married on May 4, 2013. Solomon also gave his life to Christ and became a member of Faith Fellowship CBC in 2013. He resided in Portsmouth, VA with his wife until he took ill and was transported to Autumn Care Nursing Home until his time of demise. Solomon leaves to cherish his memory, wife Gilda Lewis of Portsmouth, daughter Star Privott of Suffolk; step daughters, Synne Walker (Frankie)  and Lynnn Hamilton both of Porstmouth; sons, Scottie Boone (Suffolk), Mark Eley (Portsmouth) step son Lamont White (Portsmouth); sisters Mary Eley (Robert) of Suffolk Sarah Williams (Leon) ,Margie Lewis (Suffolk); brothers, Thomas Lewis (Nita) of Suffolk, William Lewis  of Suffolk, Willie Lewis of Suffolk. He was preceded in death by his parents Lottie M. and Frank S. Lewis and his sister, Lonabell Boone. Also left to cherish his memories 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins other relatives and friends.A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the Melvin J. Blowe Memorial Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. He will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
