Jerry Goodman

Jerry Lee Goodman, Sr. of Skeetertown Road, Suffolk, VA died Monday, March 28, 2016 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk, and the son of Marion G. Anderson, Robert Anbderson and the late Terry Sears. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Alvin Adophelia Goodman and Mattie Daughtrey. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and attended Norfolk State College (University). He retired with 32 years of service at Dominion Virginia Power. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years, Betty J. Goodman; two daughters, Pharnethia G. Jackson (Demetrius) and Bettie J. Goodman; two sons, Jerry L. Goodman, Jr. and Daryl T. Goodman; sisters, Judith Anderson-Claude (Edgton), Regina Anderson, Mary V. Anderson, Sandra Anderson, Marian Anderson and April Anderson; brothers, Robert Anderson, Jr., Ronnie Anderson (Felecia), Ricardo Anderson, Sr., Mark Anderson (Blanche), Anthony Anderson, Sr.; and other siblings in Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Jean Richardson; special cousins, Leon Goodman, Edward “Mookie” Warren, Hugh “Butch” Goodman, Jr., Frederick “Freddy” Goodman; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 2635 E. Washington Street by Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland and Dr. Anthony Copeland, Pastor.
