Willie Mae Jenkins

Willie Mae Jenkins, 88 of 2620 East Washington Street, Suffolk, VA died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of North Carolina and the daughter of the late Florine and Collie Hawk. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Jenkins. She retired from Planters Peanut Company. She was a member of New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church where she was on the Missionary Board. Ms. Jenkins was a member of the Royal Hunters Club and Guiding Light Savings Club. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, James Lee Jenkins of Suffolk and; sisters, Bessie Hawk of Newport News, VA Pauline Hawk and Carleither Jones both of Suffolk; Margaret Hawk of Sunbury, NC and Erma Lee Hawk Moore of Corapeake, NC; brothers, Claude Edward Hawk, Hurley Hawk and Isaac Hawk all of Corapeake, NC; goddaughter, Deborah Hayer Adkins of Corapeke, NC.; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016 at New Middle Swamp Missionary Church, 790 Middle Swamp Road, Corapeake, NC officiated by Rev. Dr. Claude Odom.
