Ulyesses M Kee

Ulyesses McCoy Kee, 84, transitioned on February 3, 2016 at his residence in Chesapeake. He was a native of Southampton County, VA and the son of the late Stella R. Kee and James Kee. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lena Jones, Ella Ramsey and Fannie Russell and four brothers, James, Willie, Bruce and Thurlow Kee. He worked for Norfolk Southern as a Brakeman and Conductor where he retired in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as an usher, Deacon and Trustee. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Melanie T. Kee of Chesapeake, VA; ; a son, Bernard Kee (Faye) and step-son Corey Taylor (Nicole), both of Suffolk, VA; one step-daughter, Monica Taylor of Chesapeake, VA; one sister, Ruth Pugh of Suffolk; two grandchildren and four step grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory is his mother-in-law, Earlene Taylor; three sister-in-law, Yvonne Thomas (Earl), Jean Gaines (Curtis), and Virginia Kee; one brother in law, Curtis Gaines; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, February 13, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
